I’m getting this error when I try to connect:
{“errors”:[{“code”:3,“code_name”:“ParameterInvalid”,“detail”:“Invalid parameter for ‘oauth_client_id’: 7800.”,“id”:“83543a96-f65d-4338-9895-03040641adef”,“source”:{“parameter”:“oauth_client_id”},“status”:“400”,“title”:“Invalid value for parameter ‘oauth_client_id’.”}]}
You have an existing app for that site in Patreon’s apps page:
If you delete that app and just restart setup, it will just work.
I have the same problem. I only have the one app in my wordpress plugins. If I delete it I have no way of connecting with my Patreon.

That error appears when you already have an app for this site at Patreon and the plugin cant delete the old app. Just visit the below page, delete the relevant app for that site, and then you can restart the setup process:
Aha, I understand what I’ve done. I have 2 websites I am trying to connect to Patreon!
Basically any existing app for your site which the plugin doesnt know about would produce this problem. If the plugin already knows about the existing app, it should be able to automatically delete and refresh it.
thank you. is it possible to connect 2 sites to one patreon account?
Yes, each would require their own app. Basically use setup wizard once from each site - that will do it.
Hi and thanks, that is
exactly what I did but I still get that error message.
I made the new site
Copied posts over from
the old site
Installed the Patreon
Wordpress plugin
Tried to connect but
got that error message.
Thanks!
I click on the wizard
to connect and I get this error message

Just delete all the apps related to those sites at this page:
Thanks
There is only one app
on that page, the original site app and that is working fine.
both sites have the
Patreon WordPress plugin. The original site is connecting fine.
The new site
() does not connect and gives me the error
messages when I go through the wizard.
I feel like you don’t
understand what the problem is.
Should I set up a new
client on the Patreon Platform link you sent? If so, what
settings should I use?
Thanks!
Now, that error cannot appear if an app for that website does not already exist.
Try checking out ‘Connection’ button section in Patreon Settings menu at both of your WP sites.
Are the ‘redirect uri’ value (grayed out) in both sites different? Or are they the same?
Thank you
This is what I see on
the original site
and this is what I see
on the new site that will not connect. If I try to connect it I
get the error message
Clicking on ‘Connection details’ button will show the details needed. However, you shouldnt post screenshots of those screens since they contain sensitive details. Just copy/paste the redirect uri values.
thank you, I was
worried about that. Should I copy the connection details from
site A to site B?
No, definitely not.
Delete all connection details you see there on each site. Save it.
Delete the existing app at register-clients page that i linked earlier.
Then use the ‘Connect’ button which will now appear at both of your sites, in ‘Patreon settings’ page.
Thank you
Site one connected
beautifully after I deleted everything and reconnected

This is just odd.
This may be a case of opcache or other caching feature showing a previously cached page. There is no reason why this should keep happening despite repeated delete/recreate attempts.
Are these sites hosted at different hosts? Contacting the host and asking about any kind of caching intervening in this procedure may help. You can give them the exact information you just detailed in this thread.
nope, same host.
