Hi folks,

All of a sudden, my Patreon <> Wordpress connection isn’t working.

Errors at login:
Sorry. Could not acquire your info from Patreon. Please try again later.

When trying to reconnect the plugin, I get:

Reconnecting your site to Patreon

We weren’t able to get to get the token for connecting your site to Patreon for the time being. Please wait a while and try again and contact support if this situation persists.

Response code: 401 Response :{“error”:“invalid_grant”}

Version:
WP 6.7.1 with PHP 7.4.33
Patreon WordPress 1.9.6 with API v2

Can you please help? I am not a coder, just a user of the plugin.

PS: I have refreshed the token information and redone things, but it is still a problem.

Hi @Freelance_Jungle I’m curious if you ever figured this out? We’ve shipped a few updates to the WP plugin that might’ve fixed the issue you experinced. Make sure to update to the latest version and follow through the re-connect flow.

If update + reconnect doesn’t work, try

  1. Heading to Platform | Applications | Patreon and deleting the client used by the WP plugin
  2. Clearing the input fields in connection details (WP plugin)
  3. Going through the reconnect flow again
